Welcome to the Durston for Congress Website
Dr. Bill Durston ran in 2008 as the Democratic candidate for House of Representatives in California's 3rd Congressional District to give voters a choice for change. Bill ran against an incumbent career politician who was in virtual lock-step with the Bush Administration. Despite an impressive Durston for Congress grass roots campaign, the incumbent was re-elected, receiving 49.5% of the vote compared to Bill's 44%, with third party candidates receiving the remaining 6.5% of the vote. On the positive side, Bill gained more ground against the incumbent between 2006 and 2008 than in any of the other 23 Congressional races in the country which pitted the same two candidates against each other. Bill, his wife Diane, and the Durston for Congress Staff would like to express their sincere thanks to the thousands of supporters who contributed their time and money to the 2008 Durston for Congress campaign.
