Durston-Lungren Debates

Dr. Bill Durston repeatedly challenged Rep. Dan Lungren to debate him beginning in March of 2006. Although Lungren's campaign manager was quoted on August 2, 2006, as stating that Lungren was "eager" to debate Bill, he did not agree to debate until October 5 in Elk Grove. Lungren also agreed to debates in Angels Camp on October 16 and in Galt on October 23, but refused Bill's repeated challenges to also debate in other parts of the 3rd Congressional District.

In a face to face encounter on March 27, 2008, following a Lungren "Town Hall Meeting" in Rancho Cordova, Bill challenged Lungren to debate him early and often throughout the 2008 campaign. Lungren's response was, "I debated you in 2006."

Videographer Steve Kolb has produced high quality DVD's of the three 2006 Durston-Lungren debates which may be purchased or borrowed by contacting Chief of Staff, Marilyn Sabin, at (916) 804-8280. Durston for Congress supporters are encouraged to invite persuadable voters to view the debates with them to learn about the striking differences between Bill and his opponent.

The entire audio portion of the Elk Grove Debate may be accessed via the MP3 files below, and portions of the Angels Camp and Galt debates may be both seen and heard by clicking on the links below.
