Budget

The Bush Administration and Congress have taken the U.S. from a $128 billion budget surplus to a $371 billion budget deficit, with a record national debt of $8.4 trillion. While services have been cut for the less fortunate members of our society, the rich have received huge tax cuts. The Bush Administration and Congress have also wasted vast amounts of money, as well as a tragic number of lives, on a senseless war that is increasing, not decreasing, the risk of further terrorist attacks against the United States. As a Congressman, I will work to restore fiscal and social responsibility to our government, and to stop wasteful spending on war and preparation for war.
