Economy

It should come as little surprise that the U.S. economy is doing poorly. No country in the history of the world has ever been able to consistently divert massive resources toward war and preparation for war without crippling its own economy. War spending has also contributed to staggering budget deficits, the declining value of the dollar, and rising oil prices. Other factors in the worsening economy include trade agreements that send good-paying jobs overseas, the spiraling cost of health care, and a general lack of confidence in our government.

As a U.S. Congressman, I will work to stop wasting massive human and financial resources on war and preparation for war, and to instead redirect those resources toward rebuilding our own economy and infrastructure. I will work toward a sensible energy policy that reduces our dependence on foreign oil. I will work to bring good-paying jobs back to the United States, and to develop a system of high quality, affordable health care for all our residents. Finally, I will work to replace government of, by, and for special interests with government of, by, and for the people.
