Veterans

While wrapping itself in the American Flag and hiding behind the mantra, "Support our troops," the Bush Administration has exploited the patriotism of men and women in uniform, sending them into war on false pretenses, and failing to provide for them when they return, in all too many cases, with serious physical and psychological wounds. As a Vietnam combat veteran, I know what war is like. I would not send anyone else into a war in which I would not fight myself. As a Congressman, I will work to stop the exploitation of our men and women in uniform, and to provide our veterans with the benefits they deserve.
